These slow cooker cakes are the ultimate game-changers for fuss-free desserts!
Seriously, these might be the easiest cakes you’ve ever made. You pretty much dump your ingredients and go.
Oh, and they’re utterly delicious!
They’re also pretty perfect for potlucks and other get-togethers.
The only downside is that these cakes take a bit of time to make.
And I don’t know about you, but I’m kind of impatient when it comes to dessert. #worththewait
These are my 23 favorite slow cooker cakes.
1. Slow Cooker Chocolate Lava Cake
If rich, viscous chocolate is your jam, this slow-cooker lava cake is for you!
It’s made completely from scratch, so you really get that delicious homemade quality.
But though it’s homemade, it’s so easy to make.
All you need are basic pantry ingredients you probably already have on hand.
And when I tell you that this cake is ridiculously chocolatey, I mean it.
It’s sweet and decadent. The cake is soft and the chocolate lava sauce is thick.
It’s amazing.
2. Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Chocolate Cake (Crockpot)
Calling all peanut butter and chocolate lovers!
You’ll want to get your hands on this fabulous recipe. And I’m happy to share.
This Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup chocolate cake is kind of like a chocolate lava cake.
But instead of lava-like chocolate, you get molten peanut butter icing.
And it’s stuffed with Mini Reese’s! If that wasn’t enough, you put more Reese’s on top. Doesn’t that sound tantalizing?
3. Crockpot Cherry Dump Cake
This is literally one of the easiest cakes you will ever make.
You only need three ingredients: one box of cake mix, a can or two of cherry pie filling, and butter.
But in the slow cooker, those three ingredients turn into something magnificent.
This dump cake is like half cake, half cherry cobbler. But it’s 100 percent delicious!
4. Crockpot Better Than Sex Cake
I’ll say it… this better than sex cake totally lives up to its name.
Every bite is a total foodgasm. So get ready to spice up your dessert routine! *wink*
It features layers of moist chocolate cake, silky caramel sauce, and creamy Cool Whip.
And all of that is topped with crunchy, rich, and chocolatey toffee. It’s absolutely luscious.
And since it’s made with pre-made ingredients, you have no excuses. You have to try it!
5. Slow Cooker Pineapple Upside-Down Cake
Pineapple upside-down cake is one of my favorite cakes.
It’s the perfect balance of rich, caramelized sweetness and tropical, fruity lightness.
The only issue is that it can be a bit complicated to make. Until now.
I actually think this slow cooker version may be better than the original.
In this cake, the extra time it takes to cook is only a benefit. It really allows the cake to soak up the pineapple juices.
So, it’s incredibly moist and pineapple infuses every bite.
Plus, the top caramelizes even more than usual, and it’s delectable.
6. Slow Cooker Strawberry Dump Cake
Remember the cherry dump cake from three recipes earlier? Well, this is the same thing. Only, it’s the strawberry version!
And it is wonderful! You only need a white cake mix, strawberry pie filling, and butter.
Simply dump, go, and 3 hours later, you have a delicious dessert.
7. Slow Cooker Chocolate Pudding Cake
This cake lies somewhere on a spectrum between pudding and cake.
It’s not cakey enough to be cake and it’s not gooey enough to be pudding.
Actually, I think we can classify this more along the lines of a British pudding.
But no matter how we want to classify it, it’s out of this world.
8. Slow Cooker Gingerbread Pudding Cake
This cake tastes like all of your fall and winter dreams come to life!
And similar to the previous recipe, this cake is more like a British pudding.
Most importantly, it’s delicious. It’s loaded with molasses, ginger, cinnamon, and nutmeg, just like your favorite gingerbread cookies.
But it’s a lot easier to make!
9. Crockpot Apple Pudding Cake
Clearly, pudding cakes are delicious, or I wouldn’t have added so many to this list.
And this apple one is no different. If you love autumn apple desserts, give this one a try!
10. Slow Cooker Lemon Cake
This light, citrusy lemon cake is the perfect way to ring in the warmer months. Or to brighten up the dreariness of the colder seasons.
This recipe features a dense lemon poppyseed cake with a tart citrus glaze. It’s delicious!
11. Crockpot Hot Fudge Sundae Cake
I have one word to describe this hot fudge sundae cake: irresistible. Okay, I have a few more words.
This cake is so fudgy and so delectable, you may have trouble controlling yourself.
It’s crazy chocolatey, featuring both chocolate cake and molten chocolate fudge.
And you are required to pair it with ice cream, plus whipped cream, with a cherry on top.
12. Slow Cooker Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting
Carrot cake is so underrated. I think it’s like the oatmeal cookie of the cake world.
When it’s done well, it’s one of the best things you’ll put in your mouth.
And this slow cooker version is done really well!
It’s super moist and fruity, with just the right amount of spices. Every bite is seriously satisfying.
And when it’s frosted with creamy, tangy cream cheese frosting? It’s perfect.
13. Slow Cooker Red Velvet Cake
This is the perfect way to treat the red velvet cake lovers in your life.
Because slow cooker red velvet cake might be the best version out there.
Red velvet has a tendency to be quite dry. And that’s just not the case with the slow cooker.
Since the moisture can’t escape, it stays in the cake.
Plus, the addition of yogurt adds both fat and moisture. Meaning this is also the most tender red velvet you’ll have.
Serve it with your favorite buttercream or cream cheese frosting and enjoy!
14. Crockpot Pumpkin Spice Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting
If you happen to love pumpkin spice lattes, you’re in for a treat. Because like the drink, this cake is practically the epitome of fall.
It is absolutely loaded with pumpkin and pumpkin spice. It’s moist and tender, and just plain delicious.
And the cream cheese frosting adds the perfect amount of tangy goodness.
Top it with caramel sauce, and you’re good to go!
15. Slow Cooker Banana Nut Cake
Is banana bread your favorite bread? Are banana bars your favorite bars? And is a banana nut muffin your idea of a perfect muffin?
Then, you will go bananas for this slow cooker cake! It’s like all your favorite treats in one.
16. Crockpot Chocolate Root Beer Float Soda Cake
You only need root beer and cake mix to make this delicious dessert.
The result tastes like an even more delicious root beer float. A scoop of ice cream is a must!
17. Crockpot Blueberry Snack Cake
This simple cake tastes like the embodiment of summer. Every bite is light and fresh and bursting with juicy blueberries!
Since it’s made in the Crockpot, you don’t have to use your oven.
So, you can keep your house nice and cool. (P.S. This is true of all slow cooker cakes.)
18. Crockpot Coffee Cake
A sweet, cinnamon streusel coffee cake hits the spot every time. And this one requires minimal work, so it’s even better!
Plus, it’s moist, delicate, and absolutely mouthwatering.
19. Crockpot Chocolate Caramel Cake
I think there are two main camps when it comes to pairing chocolate: the peanut butter camp and the caramel camp.
I think both are divine, but chocolate caramel always wins for me.
And though this cake may not be the most visually appealing, its flavor is delectable! And that’s good enough for me.
It’s absolutely studded with chocolate, which is already fantastic.
But the addition of dulce de leche caramel makes it even better!
20. Slow Cooker Sticky Caramel Pumpkin Cake
The ooey-gooey factor of this cake is off the charts. It’s so sticky and delicious. You’ll love it!
Obviously, pumpkin desserts are wonderful.
For me, pumpkin cake is the cream of the crop. It’s moist and tender and delightfully dense.
So, it’s already pretty great. But then you add the caramel sauce.
Man, this stuff adds a level of lusciousness that makes you ooh-and-ahh.
21. Slow Cooker Pineapple Coconut Spoon Cake
One bite of this spoon cake will whisk your taste buds to a tropical paradise.
It’s almost like a hummingbird cake, but it doesn’t have the banana or the spices.
You could totally add that, though.
Anyway, this cake does have plenty of good stuff.
It’s a buttery yellow cake loaded with shredded coconut, pineapple pieces, and pecans.
It has a tantalizing texture that will absolutely knock your socks off!
22. Crockpot Vanilla Sour Cream Cake
You can’t go wrong with a classic vanilla sour cream cake.
The sour cream adds the perfect hint of tanginess and lots of moisture. In general, sour cream cakes are seriously decadent.
And this Crockpot version is no different.
It’s rich and dense and wonderful.
But two secret ingredients level up the deliciousness of this recipe: instant pudding and white chocolate chips.
Trust me when I say this is the best sour cream cake you’ll ever try.
23. Slow Cooker Key Lime Cake
I’m a low-key Key lime fiend. I tend to forget about Key lime desserts, but when I remember again, I’m obsessed.
And so the cycle continues, starting with this key lime cake. If Key lime pie is your favorite pie, you’ll love this cake.
It features all of the same citrusy goodness but in cake form. The cake is zesty and lime-flavored in the best way possible.
Then, it’s smothered in sweet lime icing and studded with fresh zest.
It’s light, bright, and absolutely mouthwatering.
