Hormel Chili Dip

If you’re looking for the ultimate appetizer for game days, movie nights, and parties, look no further. Serve this chili dip with tortilla chips and you’re golden.

It’s the cheesiest, richest, and creamiest dip around.

It doesn’t just taste good but is also affordable and easy to make. It all comes together in one bowl, and the microwave will do everything for you.

Plus, it makes a huge batch and can be easily doubled.

In short, this chili dip is everything you can ask for in a game day snack!

Ingredients

Three ingredients are all you’ll need to make the most epic dip there is!

  • Cream Cheese – The rich and creamy base of the dish. Its mild tartness also balances out the savory dip.
  • Chili – The canned kind will do, but if you have leftover chili, use that.
  • Shredded Cheese – The recipe calls for mild or sharp cheddar, but any melted cheese will work.

Tips for the Best Chili Dip

Follow these tips to help you perfect your dip and make your next party a success!

  • Use full-fat cream cheese for ultimate richness. You can use 1/3 less fat cream cheese, but I don’t recommend fat-free.
  • Experiment with other cheeses. Any melty cheese will work. Colby Jack, Pepper Jack, Gouda, and Mexican blend cheeses all make great alternatives.
  • Shred your own cheese. It’s easy, cheaper, and melts better.
  • Any brand of chili will do. I use Hormel for obvious reasons, but your chili, your rules. You can even choose one with beans if you like.
  • Add ground beef for a meaty dip. Just be sure to drain the grease well, or it’ll affect the dip’s consistency.
  • Make it fiery. Add some heat to your dip with a can of diced green chilis. You can also use jalapenos, hot sauce, cayenne pepper, or chili flakes.
  • Add milk to thin out your dip. This dip is ultra thick and creamy. If you like yours thinner, stir in a bit of milk until you get your desired consistency.
  • Go wild on toppings. Top your dip with avocado slices, salsa, olives, and/or sour cream for maximum flavor.

How to Serve Hormel Chili Dip

This ultra-cheesy dip is perfect for any kind of chips – nachos, tortilla & corn chips, Fritos, – you name it.

But there are also a ton of other ways to use it. Here are a few drool-worthy ideas:

  • Mexican Food Feast: This dip is the perfect topping for tacos, quesadillas, enchiladas, and all Mexican dishes.
  • Healthy Snack: Use crudites instead of chips. I’m talking celery, cucumber, and carrot sticks. And bell peppers, too! Yum.
  • Chili Dog: Transform that boring hot dog by piling chili on top.
  • Chili Dip Pasta: Toss any kind of pasta with chili dip and top with cheese. Try it and thank me later.
  • Grab a spoon: No accoutrements needed. This dip is phenomenal on its own.

Transfer the dip to the fridge to thaw before reheating.

Zap the dip in the microwave until warmed through.

Note: Reheat the dip only once. The quality won’t be that good when reheated again.
